EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
We seek for developers with strong focus in C++ system or application programming. The main task of the job is to drive and implement development topic as part of a development team inside the core of the SAP HANA in-memory database. You can expect to work on some of the following tasks:
- Write meticulous software implementations in classical main memory database areas such as compression algorithms, distribution algorithms or query processing as well as in domain specific extensions like processing of geo spatial information, graph processing, hierarchical information processing or database programming languages
- Write basic regression tests for your own code using different programming languages (e.g. C++, Python, SQL) and testing frameworks (e.g. Google C++ Testing Framework)
- Do code reviews and code audits to spot opportunities for improvements with respect to usability, testability, supportability, or potential performance penalties

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATION / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

- Excellent German and English both spoken and written
- Willingness to analyze and debug complex problems
- Good communication skills Preferred skills:
- Experience in Administration, Programming or Profiling on Linux
- Knowledge of code-analysis tools e.g. Valgrind, Intel Amplifier, Cppchecker
- Experience with continuous integration concepts and tools e.g. Git, Gerrit
- Python or Shell-Scripting programming skills
- Working experience in the area of system or application programming with C++ (eg. internship or working student experience)
