The Opportunity/ Job Description We are seeking an Enterprise Information Management Development Support Engineer who is driven by a desire to provide our customers with outstanding technical customer service. Their primary responsibility is to assist our customers in resolving issues related to Data Services and Information Steward installations, upgrades, metadata management, data integration, and data quality. The Support Engineer will need the ability to support complex environments and provide root cause analysis on a variety of databases utilizing SAP EIM products such as Oracle, MS SQL and DB2. In addition the Development Support Engineer will be part of the Data Services or IS development team being responsible for the whole development cycle of new functionalities from start to finish
EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
As a development support engineer in the SAP HANA EIM team you will be working with a group of exceptionally talented and motivated colleagues. You will need to:
- Feel responsible for the development support of existing products like Information Steward and Data Services in strong cooperation with our customers and across locations and time zones
- Identify relevant technology trends and drive education in related domains
- Write meticulous software implementations
- Be able to multiply your skills by actively mentoring other resources within the team
- Continually enhance your existing skills and seek new areas for personal development
- Be a strong, committed, reliable team player with a strong service ethic; as well as being a proactive networker, a self-starter and self-motivated.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Working experience and domain knowledge in the area of data integration, data quality, data governance, master data management, is highly desired
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATION / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Required Skills
- Very good Doctoral, Master's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related fields with
- 9 - 12+ years of professional experience
- A solid foundation in computer science with strong competencies in data structure, algorithms, and software design
- Willingness to take responsibility, drive development support as well as new developments, work creatively on challenging and groundbreaking development tasks in accordance with the highest technical standards, plus a high level of commitment, team-spirit, flexibility, and initiative
- Ability to design and lead features spanning multiple components, other developers and cross teams
- Excellent C, C++ and Java skills and experience in implementing performance critical algorithms
- Strong knowledge of scripting language (for example in Python, JSP and/or Java script, SQL, Flash is a plus)
- Experience building large scale enterprise and distributed applications
- Experience in one of major databases (HANA, Oracle, DB2, Microsoft SQL Server or Sybase ASE)
- Strong knowledge on enterprise application integration (XML, web services, SOA, SSO). Preferred Skills
- Knowledge in cloud scale distributed systems
- Knowledge in No SQL databases
- Knowledge in design patterns and object oriented programming
- Working knowledge in REST/oData/JSon
- Knowledge about SAP ERP or BusinessObjects Enterprise platform is a plus
