As a Project Manager you will organize and manage the deployment projects for bringing on new managed services customers and/or managing the migration/upgrade projects for existing customers. You will be responsible for projects extending from evaluating initial project charter, scope and deliverables with customers during contract negotiations through the projects' completion and turnover to operations.
EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
- Organize and staff project teams to implement managed services for new customers to migrate/upgrade existing customers.
- Ensure projects deliver results on time and within budget and that our customers are satisfied with the quality of these services.
- Ensure our customers and management are adequately informed and satisfied regarding the progress and completion of these projects.
- Provide feedback to the Engineering team on the implementation performance of the Managed Servers network, security, servers and storage infrastructure.
- Turnover to the Operations team day-to-day responsibility for the just implemented managed systems.
- Audit and Inventory of existing and future customer environments within configuration management database
WORK EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience working in information technology as an engineer or project manager.
- Minimum of 3 years managing infrastructure projects (versus software development projects).
- Minimum of 3 years working in managed services or as a third-party IT service provider.
- Experience with Application Infrastructure Projects.
- Proven experience in Project Management.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATION / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- Minimum of Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills.
- Further language skills are an asset.
- Knowledge of Database/Storage Projects.
- Technology Certification(s) is considered an asset.
- PMP or PMI Certification is considered an asset.
- ITIL Certification (s) is considered an asset.
- Willingness to travel internationally as needed where there are managed services data centers, which are currently in Montreal, Boston USA and Frankfurt Germany.
